A total of 5,111 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday. Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 756c/kg and averaged 678c/kg, weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 710c/kg and averaged 627c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 662c/kg and averaged 587c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 598c/kg and averaged 514c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 550c/kg and averaging 467c/kg. Cows and calves hit $2,900/unit. Mark Gadsby, Noorooloo, Morven sold Angus steers to 756c/kg, reaching a top of $1,285 to average $1,285. The Angus cross heifers sold to 654c/kg, reaching a top of $1,183 to average $1,083. Tu Pastoral, Unity, St George sold Santa steers to 736c/kg, reaching a top of $1,887 to average $1,494. Silver Back Properties, Yoorooga, Surat sold Red Angus steers to 730c/kg, reaching a top of $2,132 to average $1,437. Heifers under 220kg topped at 654c/kg and averaged 547c/kg, while heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 634c/kg and averaged 507c/kg. Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 634c/kg, averaging 513c/kg. Heifers in the 350-450kg range topped at 532c/kg, averaging 416c/kg. BR Sinnamon, Tin Hut, Jackson sold Brangus heifers to 442c/kg, reaching a top of $2,025 to average $2,025. Lagoon Pty Ltd / Murrays Pty Ltd, Roma Downs, Roma sold Charbray cross heifers to 430c/kg, reaching a top of $2,140 to average $2,035. The Charbray cross cows and calves sold to $2,900/unit. Cows in the 300-400kg range reached 368c/kg and averaged 294c/kg, while cows in the 400kg-500kg range reached 422c/kg and averaged 360c/kg. Cows over 500kg topped at 407c/kg, averaging 386c/kg.
